If you only read the books, you’d be thinking, “hell yeah, Doran is the shit”. Unfortunately, we’re using the show as reference, which means all of the strategy, intelligence, and patience of the proud Prince of Dorne is replaced by a knife coup de grace he should’ve seen coming, delivered by someone who probably views Ariana Grande as an older, more mature role model. Still, it’s nice to know that Spiders don’t always have to be typecast as the evil mastermind with barely a heart or a pulse.
